Bring a tool and your dogs...

My momma didn't raise a dummy, when there is a "natural disaster" call for help! This is about how that went..."Hey Dad Merry Christmas, we had a flood. David ordered new windows, for Christmas all I want is free labor. Ok, see you in two days! love you!" followed by a conversation that went a little like this: "dearest brother Alex let me get you another drink, and also can you ride down to NC with me and help with the house? Mom said she would fly you back before the New Year?!" (big smile).
We also had two other unsuspecting guests roped into helping. Drew and Kate (and their pups) were going to ring in the New Year with David and I in Wilmington...so they came and we got Drew to paint!

The white primer paint is a million times better then the red fireplace wall and the yellow throughout the house. Big thanks need to also go to Billie my stepmom for priming the blue wall in the sunroom and to David's wonderful mother Diane for knocking out the rest of the yellow in the hall, kitchen and family room with primer white.
The window project proved to be a huge undertaking but David, Alex, my father Bob and David's dad Mike did an incredible job. Not sure if you recall, the room at the back of the house is going to be our master bedroom and when we bought the house it was divided into two rooms by a dummy wall that wasn't even screwed into the ceiling. After we took the wall down we were left with a big room with two very mismatched windows. So, there en lies the project: installing two matching huge windows where the old ones were...
see-one window went rectangle and the other (below at left of boys) is small and vertical.
David and Alex are securing the first window in place...here are a couple pictures of the process:

<---Big hole in the side of my house...glad the weather was nice at least. It was breezy

 Big doggie door?
 Boys workin' away!

TA-DA two matching windows! yes!
you can see where the room was split into two, the lime green vs the white. nice.
Look at those beautiful windows! An absolute wonderful change and I cannot wait to move into this room! eee!

All this work calls for a nap...
