Stop, do not say it! It can always get worse.
double sigh
I have more photos to upload but I am not ready...it has been a long afternoon of reliving the flood madness, my wine glass is empty and I am not sure I am ready to continue (not without more wine at least).
Let me break down the other stressful things we are juggling:
We have two insurance claims unsettled the first is the flood and the second is the Tahoe crash. After three different rental cars we finally have the Tahoe back complete now with 2008 front end and 2011 back end. Does that make it a hybrid?
I turned 25 and Mr. B turned 60!
In the next year we have 9 weddings to attend. I am blessed and fortunate to be in two plus the MOH in one. I cannot wait to watch some of my best friends make the leap! I am so happy for all the wonderful couples. I am also THRILLED I have 600 days until my projected wedding date. I am 100% sure I want to marry David but I am also 100% sure if we were planning a wedding on top of all this stuff I would be certifiable. I am packing to head to NYC for a bachelorette party next weekend and I have a test on Tuesday.
Yes, I said test. I recently decided to just go for it and begin classes to get certification as an EMT. It has been a long time interest of mine and the class is awesome! I work 9 hours a day and then go to class for 3 hours two nights a week plus some Saturday 6 hour classes.
Ok here is the cliff hanger...we had another flood.
Stay tuned!

Trashy
For some reason I adore this photo. Brooks looking confused, David sweeping and his marvelous idea to just go ahead and wheel the trash can into the house...

Bring a tool and your dogs...
My momma didn't raise a dummy, when there is a "natural disaster" call for help! This is about how that went..."Hey Dad Merry Christmas, we had a flood. David ordered new windows, for Christmas all I want is free labor. Ok, see you in two days! love you!" followed by a conversation that went a little like this: "dearest brother Alex let me get you another drink, and also can you ride down to NC with me and help with the house? Mom said she would fly you back before the New Year?!" (big smile).
We also had two other unsuspecting guests roped into helping. Drew and Kate (and their pups) were going to ring in the New Year with David and I in Wilmington...so they came and we got Drew to paint!
The white primer paint is a million times better then the red fireplace wall and the yellow throughout the house. Big thanks need to also go to Billie my stepmom for priming the blue wall in the sunroom and to David's wonderful mother Diane for knocking out the rest of the yellow in the hall, kitchen and family room with primer white.
The window project proved to be a huge undertaking but David, Alex, my father Bob and David's dad Mike did an incredible job. Not sure if you recall, the room at the back of the house is going to be our master bedroom and when we bought the house it was divided into two rooms by a dummy wall that wasn't even screwed into the ceiling. After we took the wall down we were left with a big room with two very mismatched windows. So, there en lies the project: installing two matching huge windows where the old ones were...
see-one window went rectangle and the other (below at left of boys) is small and vertical.
David and Alex are securing the first window in place...here are a couple pictures of the process:
<---Big hole in the side of my house...glad the weather was nice at least. It was breezy
Big doggie door?
Boys workin' away!
TA-DA two matching windows! yes!
you can see where the room was split into two, the lime green vs the white. nice.
Look at those beautiful windows! An absolute wonderful change and I cannot wait to move into this room! eee!
All this work calls for a nap...
Brooks and stretched out Banks
David, Banks and Drew & Kate's puppy Ozzy
Hello little love muffin Oz! We are so blessed to have such wonderful family, friends and woofie dogs!

The Great Christmas Flood of 2010
well, loyal blog followers I am deeply sorry for the long delay. I have a valid excuse...actually several. As I patch these stories together please keep in mind that I could have never in 19328734 years have predicted the series of events that unfolded over the holidays. Alas, we begin with the flood:
Due to Christmas falling on a weekend David and I both worked most of the week leading up to Christmas. I was packed and ready to depart with my side kick Brooks on the long journey to Maryland to celebrate with my family. Alarm is set for 5:15AM Christmas Eve and I had brave plans to be on the road before 6:00AM and the rest of the holiday idiots. Well, around 4:30AM I am woken by what I think is the shower running or the kitchen sink. After about 20 minutes of sleepy investigating from the bed I decide to get up and really see what that rushing water sound is (side note: if you hear water get up immediately) two feet lazily slide off the bed and into about 3 inches of freezing cold water-in our bedroom! After being shocked completely awake by this sensation I begin to holler some not so lady like words and David is quickly at my side in the freezing flood.
We fling open the bedroom door to discover that yes-water is in the entire house. Our horrible fake floating wood floor is literally floating. The waterfall is located in our laundry room and David quickly runs to the street to cut the water to the house (this was not as smooth as I just described, more bad words, hunting for tools, standing at the street in PJs in 30 degree cold) but yes, the water is off and let me tell you how quiet the house seemed after sleeping for HOURS to the nice sounds of water rushing by the bed. I slip on my trusty yellow rain boots and begin to assess the damage. Front door wide open at 5:15AM I realize I have not seen our guard dogs yet. Fearing they drowned I go back into the bedroom to find them both on one round dog bed shaking I could tell the puppy Banks must have thought she really made a mess now. After some cooing they tiptoed through the water over to me...we went outside where is was dry and I fed them breakfast and assured them that no, they were not responsible for this mess. For once, they were off the hook.
I begin flying through the house picking things up off the floor and determining how wet, ruined or salvageable the items were...one of the first things I grabbed was, you guessed it, my Vera Bradley luggage all packed up and ready for MD now completely soaked through. At this point I decided to make the call...Mom I am going to be late.
These two pictures are of the sunroom in our house...that white wall is the backside of our bedroom. the water is coming out of the bedroom under the new drywall and into the sunroom. In the second photo you can see the stream of water coming down off the main living room of our house.
note the water line on the curtains and the dog hair that seems to have floated out of the floor...EVERYWHERE!
this is actually the garage-the water poured from the house through the garage and into the driveway.
So you are probably wondering what the outcome of all this was...
Our floor in the driveway. I have been living on the concrete slab of my house for 2 months now. It is a very cold dusty feeling but the upside is you don't have to clean it. Really--What's the point? I am pretty sure the dogs love it. sigh.
Well like the floors of my house, Christmas came and went. I very hesitantly drove back to the destruction that awaited me in NC and prayed things in 2011 would be better but we weren't through it yet...
